Mapping student engangement in a MOOC

The Chronicle of Higher Education recently featured an article by Anthony Robinson about student engagement in his popular massive open online course (MOOC), "Maps and the Geospatial Revolution."

The article, "Mapping a MOOC Reveals Global Patterns in Student Engagement," details geographic patterns in participation of the 49,000 students who enrolled in the course worldwide. The data was geocoded and mapped by two GeoVISTA grad students: Sterling Quinn and Carolyn Fish, respectively. More maps and details are available at Carolyn Fish's blog.
