Anthony Robinson receives Award for Innovative Teaching

GeoVISTA Center Assistant Director Anthony Robinson has received the 2014 G. Montgomery and Marion Hall Mitchell Award for Innovative Teaching. This award was created in 1998 to recognize faculty members in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences who use innovative teaching techniques in their courses.

Anthony, who received the award at the annual Wilson Awards Banquet, is lead faculty member for Penn State's Postbaccalaureate GIS Certificate and Master of Geographic Information Systems online programs. He also teaches "Maps and the Geospatial Revolution," a massively open online course (MOOC). Anthony is gearing up to teach the second offering of the course, which begins this week. Over 48,000 students from around the world enrolled in its first offering last year.
