GeoVISTA at ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems

Several GeoVISTA members travel to Orlando, Florida this week to participate in the ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems.

At the workshop on Interacting With Maps, grad student Alexander Savelyev will present his paper, "Multiview User Interface Coordination in Browser-Based Geovisualization Environments."

Two papers by GeoVISTA researchers will be featured at the workshop on Geographic Information Retrieval. The first, by Sen Xu and Alexander Klippel, is "Linking Context and Proximity Through Web Corpus."

Grad student Morteza Karimzadeh will present the second, "GeoTxt: A Web API to Leverage Place References in Text," which was co-authored by Wenyi Huang, Siddhartha Banerjee, Jan Oliver Wallgrün, Frank Hardisty, Scott Pezanowski, Prasenjit Mitra and Alan MacEachren.
