GeoVISTA alums at IEEE VIS 2013

GeoVISTA members and alums will play several key roles at VIS 2013, taking place in Atlanta this week. VIS 2013 consists of three individual conferences: IEEE Scientific Visualization (SciVis), IEEE Information Visualization (InfoVis), and IEEE Visual Analytics Science and Technology (VAST).

Alumnus Chris Weaver, now of the University of Oklahoma, served on the VAST program committee and as the InfoVis conference chair. He also co-authored a paper featured in the VAST session on High-dimensional Data, "Visual Analysis of Higher-Order Conjunctive Relationships in Multidimensional Data Using a Hypergraph Query System."

GeoVISTA Alum William Pike, who now works at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, also served on the VAST Program Committee, while GeoVISTA Assistant Director Anthony Robinson served on the InfoVIS Program Committee.

Alumnus Robert Roth, now at the University of Wisconsin, authored a paper in the InfoVis session on Defining the Design Space: "An Empirically-Derived Taxonomy of Interaction Primitives for Interactive Cartography and Geovisualization."
