GeoVisual Analytics: To cope with increasing geospatial data profusion one focus for our
research is to integrate visual, statistical, and computational methods for representation, analysis and knowledge
construction using highly multivariate geospatial information.
Geocollaboration: To support group work with geospatial information, we are addressing the technical and human
issues underling technology to facilitate group work and developing the semantic frameworks necessary to integrate
data generated by multiple organizations.
Human interaction with geospatial information: Our goal here is to develop new methods and tools for interacting
with geospatial information that enable both domain experts and the public more generally to use geospatial
information effectively.
Decision support and risk management: Our work here leverages our basic research in the other three areas to develop
methods and tools that are particularly relevant to using geospatial information for decision support and risk
management.
