The
ICA will meet in Durban, South Africa from August 10 to 16 for
its 21st International Cartographic Conference and the 12th
General Assembly.
Before
the conference starts we will organize our annual meeting in
Stellenbosch, South Africa, partly together with the Commission
Maps and the Internet. We will start August 6 with a Commission
meeting discussing plans for the next four years since we intend
to continue the Commission as it is with slightly adapted terms
of reference.
A
combined meeting of the Commission on Maps and the Internet
with presentations in relation to maps and the web in the widest
sense will be held on August 7th. Abstracts (500 words) for
this joint meeting are being accepted through May 31 and can
be send to kraak@itc.nl . Together with the Chair of the Commission
on Maps and the Internet we will set up a programme. We will
also reserve time on either the 6th or 7th for interactive demonstrations
where the software developers amongst us can share their ideas.
