Ian Turton joins GeoVISTA Center
Dr. Ian Turton has joined the GeoVISTA Center as a Senior Research Associate. For the past five years, Dr. Turton served as the Director of the Centre for Computational Geography at the University of Leeds' School of Geography. Dr. Turton's interests include all aspects of Computational Geography, especially the application of artificial intelligence methods to large and complex data sets. He is also involved in methods of putting geographical data on the world wide web. Dr. Turton is now the lead developer for GeoVISTA Studio and his expertise will be a valuable addition to many GeoVISTA Center projects. Dr. Turton holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Edinborough and a Master of Science degree in Human Geography from the University of Leeds.
