Introduction:

STNexus: An Integrated Database and Visualization Environment for Space-Time Information Exploitation

The overall goal of the research is to develop and implement a mechanism for coordination of powerful and flexible space-time geospatial database and information visualization capabilities. We view this as an enabling step toward allowing continuing development and effective use of diverse visualization techniques for both analysis and unstructured data exploration. In light of this, the proposed project also intrinsically involves fundamental advancements in both space-time databases and visualization.

Although the proposed conceptual framework and approach are intended for a wide range of applications, particular attention will be given to multi-source data and knowledge (from maps, images, text, and other sources) associated with terrorism threats.
